چکیده

We present a theory of the effects of impurity scattering in dx22y2 superconductors and their quantum disordered counterparts, based on a nonlinear-sigma-model formulation. We show the existence, in a quasi-two-dimensional system, of a novel spin-metal phase with a nonzero spin diffusion constant at zero temperature. With decreasing interlayer coupling, the system undergoes a quantum phase transition (in a new universality class) to a localized spin insulator. Experimental implications for spin and thermal transport in the high-temperature superconductors are discussed. [S0031-9007(98)07710-2]

Note on the magnetotransport in the normal state of high-Tc cuprates

Theories of the magnetotransport, based on the quasipartricle of the Fermiliquid, in the normal state of high-Tc cuprate superconductors, are critically examined and the necessity of the collective transport theory beyond the quasiparticle is discussed.

Anomalous Magnetothermal Resistance of High-Tc Superconductors: Anomalous Cyclotron Orbits at a Dirac Point

In trying to explain the anomalously sharp dependence of thermal conductivity on magnetic field in the cuprate high tc superconductors, it was found that previous discussions of quasiparticle motion near the gap nodes were in error because of failure to take into account total current conservation. We present corrected equations of motion for quasiparticle motion and discuss their relationship ...

Anomalous normal-state properties of high-Tc superconductors: intrinsic properties of strongly correlated electron systems?

A systematic study of optical and transport properties of the Hubbard model, based on the Metzner-Vollhardt dynamical mean-field approximation, is reviewed. This model shows interesting anomalous properties that are, in our opinion, ubiquitous to single-band strongly correlated systems (for all spatial dimensions greater than one) and also compare qualitatively with many anomalous transport fea...

Phenomenology of the normal state in-plane transport properties of high-Tc cuprates

In this article, I review progress towards an understanding of the normal state (in-plane) transport properties of high-Tc cuprates in the light of recent developments in both spectroscopic and transport measurement techniques. Against a backdrop of mounting evidence for anisotropic single-particle lifetimes in cuprate superconductors, new results have emerged that advocate similar momentum dep...

d-Wave superconductivity in doped Mott insulators

The effect of proximity to a Mott insulating phase on the charge transport properties of a superconductor is determined. An action describing the low energy physics is formulated and different scenarios for the approach to the Mott phase are distinguished by different variation with doping of the parameters in the action. A crucial issue is found to be the doping dependence of the quasiparticle...
